Auschwitz: The Eva Brewster Story

CLIENT: Galt Museum & Archives

Though exhibit design was not officially part of my work at the Galt Museum & Archives [2004-2015], my graphic design experience afforded me the opportunity to design several two-dimensional exhibits such as this important one on local Auschwitz survivor Eva Brewster.

The exhibit was recognized with the 2007 Alberta Museums Association Programming Award: Exhibits and 2008 Chinook Country Tourist Association Marketing Excellence Award.

The exhibit design uses iconic imagery of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp including the camp main gate, barracks facades, and the electric fence supports. Other elements of the exhibit include historic photographs, quotes of Eva’s written words, historical background, and images of barbed wire all combined in thirty creative design panels, each of which hung from a wooden support.
